ENVY x360 Convertible 15m
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear HP,

I am trying to connect my HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15M laptop to my HP ZR2740w External Monitor through the HDMI port. Everything is connected, but the display is blank and will not show anything. The cable I'm using is a HDMI to DP (the HDMI end is plugged into the laptop and the DP end is plugged into the monitor. From what I understand, the output on the laptop is only 1920 x 1080. Is it possible to have the laptop output be 2560 x 1440 so the display will show?

Thank you.

@Geekey

Since there are few generations of HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15M laptop around, what EXACTLY is the model/product of your HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15M laptop ?

Most likely it only has HDMI 1.2 or 1.4 port and you can ONLY have 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz. Cable alone won't help you need a proper adapter.

Regards.

It is the brand new one and the model number is 15m-dr1012dx.  Since the HDMI output is only 1920 x 1080 then I will not be able to use this monitor.

If I connect a cable through the USB-C will that give the option to output a 2560 x 1440 so the external monitor will connect?
