Hi all,
I have purchased a HP Spectre x2 12-c009tu device. As the screen is small, I would like to connect this device to an external monitor...preferably to two external monitors. My intention is to purchase a multi-monitor splitter so that one of my USB-C port can output to two external monitors while the other USB-C port will be for charging / data transfer purposes.
The type of multi-monitor splitter I am intending to purchase is provided in the link here. It specifies that the USB-C equipped device must support video (DP Alt Mode) to work with this adapter.
I am wondering if this multi-monitor splitter will be compatible for the HP Spectre x2... Would anyone on this forum be able to offer any advice, or recommend a product is compatible? The HP product specifications page for my device quoted the ports having the following specifications..."USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge)".
Any advice would be very much appreciated, many thanks in advance!

@NinjaPei (what type of Ninja are you, espionage, sabotage, infiltration? Just curious) 😉
Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand you need help connecting two external monitors to your device,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Have you attempted to update the BIOS & graphics card drivers?
Did you get an HP recommended dongle/adapter to convert USB to HDMI or VGA?
While you respond to that, here's what you need to know:
USB Type-C video modes (Alternate mode): USB Type-C ports support adapters that can output different types of video such as HDMI, VGA, and DisplayPort, all from one USB Type-C port on your computer or device.
For more information about USB Type-C, see USB Type-C Cable and Connector Specification (in English).
Features and compatibilities of USB Type-C hosts and accessories
For specific details about USB Type-C capabilities, see the QuickSpecs for your business PC, workstation, detachable, convertible, phone, or tablet at QuickSpecs webpage.
For Pavilion x2, x360, Spectre, ENVY, and OMEN series computers, see the product specifications for your model.

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)
Keep me posted,
For I shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,
And your device is up and running again,
that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
