Hello! My HP laptop display has been constantly flickering, showing a pink and green tinted overlay every 2–3 seconds. It happens consistently and affects parts of the screen like in the image I attached (see Image 2). Sometimes it flashes back to normal (see Image 3), but then the tint returns again almost immediately (also quite laggy). This issue persists even when I’m not using any heavy programs. Any help, suggestions, or diagnostic steps would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

@thzz, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Update or Reinstall Graphics Drivers

This is often a common cause of screen flickering:

Update Graphics Drivers:

Go to Device Manager > Display Adapters.

Right-click on your graphics card and choose Update driver.

You can either search automatically or download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

Reinstall the Graphics Drivers:

Right-click on the driver in Device Manager and select Uninstall device.

After the uninstall, restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the default driver.

Check for Windows Updates

Sometimes, issues like this could be related to a recent Windows update or a bug in the system. Make sure you have the latest updates:

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Check for updates.

Test with External Monitor

If you have an external monitor or TV available, try connecting your laptop to it. This will help rule out if the issue is specific to your laptop screen or related to the GPU/display drivers:

If the external monitor displays fine, then the issue is likely with your laptop’s screen or its connection to the motherboard.

If the flickering is present on the external monitor too, the problem might be with your laptop’s GPU or drivers.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
