Re: Model 15m-cn0012dx

We've had this HP Envy for slightly over a year.   Mostly it just sits on the desk but my wife will occasionally open and close the cover.  This morning when she opened it the bottom left of the display popped out of the back of the case.  And of course...it's a month or so out of warranty.

She took it to a local uBreakIFix (which was HP's recommend local repair place) and they claim a new display will cost over $800 and we are just better off scrapping it and buying a new laptop.

Well, I guarantee if we have to do that it won't ever be another HP product.  It's hard to imagine that a lightly used laptop from a name brand company like HP would literally fall apart right out of warranty.

Is there any other solution to this issue?
