Hi guys,

I have 4 months left of my warranty. I leave my laptop on my office desk and never move it from there. I recently moved out into a very cold apartment that is quite damp. I opened my laptop today and noticed a long crack along the bottom of the screen. I googled it and saw that cold temperatures can cause your screen to crack. Would my warranty cover this?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

This sounds like hardware related issue with the display and in order to fix this issue your computer needs to be repaired.
As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: https://www.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html

With the standard one-year limited warranty, you will be covered for the repair or replacement of parts deemed defective. The warranty does not cover accidental damage, screen crack and liquid spillage.

Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance. Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
