I have cracked my touch screen and don't know exactly where I can replace this. Does hp service this or what can I do?

They will if you call and ask but it will cost you the highest possible price to have HP do a repair out of waranty.

Touchscreens are very expensive to replace. The easiest way to do the labor is just to replace the whole screen assembly and that part is going to cost over $300, maybe much over $300.

It might also be possible to replace just the glass. HP does not sell just the glass but you can find it on the market but the labor to replace the glass is more technical. The glass itself will cost a fraction of the whole screen but replacement labor might be a bit more.

Bottom line this will cost at least $250 on a very good day if you have to have the labor done by a tech and as much as $500 or even more. The best way to do it in my humble opinion is for you to source the part and then find a local shop able to do the labor.

Let us know the country you live in and the exact model number of the laptop so we can get the exact correct screen part. Also describe the crack. Is the image on the screen distorted or just a crack going across? Does the touch function work at all like on one side of the crack?

The screen is cracked and one side (left) works. When I open it I lose control of my cursor but I can see. The image is clear. The model number is 13-4102dx. I live in the USA.

I am traveling today with no time to research but will have options for you tomorrow. Looks like you just need the glass.

Here is the digitizer and glass:

Your best bet for replacement is one of the cell phone/computer repair places like ubreakifix or other similar operations.

Post back with any more questions.

Can I ask if you ended up buying the screen on ebay? Did the crack on your screen extend to the border where it is just black? What did you end up doing and what would you recommend?

Hello, please I bought that screen in the link for my hp spectre 360 but the lcd connector was 30 pin instead of the 40 pin lcd cable in my laptop. Now I’m lost I can’t find the right screen and I can’t return it because I bought it long time ago. I’d like to ask if changing the lcd display cable to 30 pin instead of 40 pin is a good idea ??

Thank you

I have the following hp model : hp spectre x360 convertible model 13ae015dx and I'm looking to replace the screen as the cracks make it difficult to use the mouse(mouse is getting frozen).

I searched on ebay but can't find a replacement screen for the model.

Any helps?

Thanks
