Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there. I'm looking for an up to date driver for my Intel(R) HD Graphics 520 in my HP Envy. The existed driver is from 2017 (22.20.16.4836)  When I check on the Intel support page I get this:

'A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver & Support Assistant is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.'

I don't seem to be able to find a driver on the HP page. Any ideas?

Hi:

You should be able to update the driver to the latest version on the Intel website, but you have to manually install it.

I have done that on both of my HP notebooks that have the onboard Intel graphics and the graphics works just fine.

Here's how to do it if you are interested...

1.  Create a system restore point so that you can easily go back to the current driver state in case the driver doesn't work for you as expected.

2.  Download the ZIP file version of the latest Intel graphics driver from the link below...

Version: 26.20.100.6912 (Latest)     Date: 6/19/2019

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28888/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers?product=88355

3. Unzip the file to its folder.   Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

4.  Go to the device manager, click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.

Click on the Intel HD graphics adapter listed there.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on update driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Click on Have Disk, and browse to the unzipped graphics driver folder>Graphics>iigd_dch (setup information file), click Next, and the driver should install.

Be patient as it can take a few minutes for the driver to install.

5.  When the installation is completed, restart the PC.

I have noticed on my notebooks after installing the generic Intel graphics driver, the Intel Driver & Support Assistant will automatically download and install subsequent graphics driver updates.

Thanks Paul, I'll give that a whirl.
