ENVY
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am new to my HP laptop computer and I have an external DVD/CD player and burner that came with my HP. Previously I owned Dell computers and they had an internal burner/player. I just finished an Adobe Premier Elements project and I am trying to burn it to a disc so that I can play it back on my Sony DVD player. I am unable to get a disc to play consistently on my Sony player. I have gotten one disc to complete and play and when I want to burn an additional disc it will not play back on my Sony, it will play on my Computer but that is it

I have tried both +R and -R discs without any success. Can anyone tell me what is happening. I am totally frustrated and wishing that I had my Dell laptop back again.

@Aurora18

Does your machine comes with an INTERNAL ODD (Optical Disc Drive) ?

(a) If yes, your machine should have a software which allows you to burn blank CD's / DVD's.

(b) If no, What is your External ODD ? It should come with a software and discs supported.

Thank you for responding I have an external burner that came with my laptop, it is a GP 70 N and the burning program that I am using is Adobe Premier Elements 12. I have used that before and got results. The blank discs were the same and I was able to do a play back on my Sony DVD player.

Hi

No real idea.

I use AnyBurn for my media creation.  Also I would want to know the formats the Sony supports.

Install any missing codec's.  Burn to the format that the Sony wants, like........

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_file_format

 and go from there.

What format are you currently burning?

I am using the external player that was sold to me my HP  It is the GP70N    I am using Adobe PE 12 to burn to disc. I can get a disc to burn and play on my Sony DVD player and then when I try to burn additional discs it will burn and play on my computer but not on my Sony DVD player.  I have used the same discs on other project and burned them with my Dell internal burner and they will play on my Sony but I am having problems with my new Envy Laptop and my external burner.  i thought I had figured out the problem as I changed the speed of the burn and that worked once but will not give me a redo. Any help would be appreciated

The files that I have in my project are mp3  jpeg png and mov files   I am using Verbatim -R discs  Both the files and the discs are compatible with my Sony DVD player
