Hello experts,

I have an interesting question.

For work I have two HP Z27n G2 monitors on my desk currently connected to a slim dock via DP on which I use an Elitebook 735 G6.

The HP Z27n G2 monitors have an option to daisychain the monitors as they have a Displayport output.

They also have a USB-C input, which to my knowledge carries the Displayport signal when connected to these monitors. So the question is, does it work to daisy chain the monitors when connected over USB-C? (Does the MST work on the USB-C inputs of the HP Z27n G2 monitors?)

Thusfar I have been unable to daisychain them (either via USB-C or the Displayport output of the slim dock).

My laptop has worked with two newer HP Z27 monitors which were daisychained (I don't have the exact model number). Therefor I know the USB-C output supports MST.

Small sidenote: the 735 G6 in my possession is specced with an AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 3700U and does not support thunderbolt.

Hope someone can help me with this as I've been unable to find an answer to this in the manuals and forums online.

Best regards,
Tim

Small update:

I have daisychaining working now over Displayport.
It seems the USB-C port does not support daisychaining on the HP Z27n G2.
I'm still hoping someone can confirm or deny this for me as we have a load of laptops that no longer have the dock connector and would need to be connected over USB-C.
