Hi @Spider2001,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP Envy 360 Convertible is experiencing a hardware issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help troubleshoot the problem.
Power Reset:
- Turn off the laptop and disconnect the power adapter.
- Remove the battery (if removable).
- Hold the power button for 15-30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the power adapter (without the battery) and try turning on the laptop.
Check RAM:
- Power off the laptop and disconnect it from the power source.
- Open the laptop's back panel (refer to your laptop's manual for instructions).
- Reseat the RAM modules: Remove them and then insert them back in their slots securely.
- Try booting the laptop again.
Check Display Connection:
- If you can, connect the laptop to an external monitor to check if the display issue is with the laptop screen or the internal components.
- If the external monitor works, the issue might be with the laptop's screen or related components.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- With the laptop off and unplugged, hold down the Windows key and the B key simultaneously.
- While holding these keys, press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Release all keys and press the power button again to turn on the laptop.
BIOS Recovery:
- If you have a BIOS recovery key (usually F2, F10, or F11 during startup), try using it to access recovery options.
Check for Beep Codes or LED Blinks:
- If your laptop provides any beep codes or LED blink patterns, note them down as they can indicate specific hardware issues.
These steps cover most common issues related to the symptoms you’re describing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
