E243D
When I turn on the E243D monitor, black shadows appear on both sides after about 1 second. Firmware update didn't fix it, looks like a hardware issue.
Can you tell me what the problem is?

I've been using it for about 3 years and it's still too early to break.

If you're experiencing dark shadow issues on both sides of an E243D docking monitor, it could be related to a few potential causes:

  1. Backlight uniformity: Uneven backlighting can result in darker areas on the sides of the screen. Check if the dark shadows appear consistently across different content or only on specific backgrounds.

  2. Viewing angle: LCD monitors can exhibit color and brightness variations when viewed from different angles. Adjust your viewing position to see if the dark shadows persist or change.

  3. Monitor settings: Review the monitor's settings and ensure that no specific settings, such as contrast or brightness adjustments, are causing the dark shadows. Resetting the monitor to its default settings can also help.

  4. Connection issues: Check the cables and connections between your computer or docking station and the monitor. Loose or faulty connections can cause display anomalies. Try reconnecting the cables or using different ones to see if it resolves the issue.

  5. Monitor defect: If none of the above steps resolve the problem, there may be a defect with the monitor itself. Contact the manufacturer's customer support or refer to the warranty for possible solutions, such as repair or replacement.
