Hello,
After running the latest set of Windows updates, the face recognition on my laptop stopped working. When I pull up device manager, it shows "Detection Verification" under "Other devices", and it indicates that the drivers for the device are not installed. If I try to search automatically for updated drivers, it is unable to find the driver.
Additionally, when attempting to set up Windows Hello, the camera light comes on, as well as the two red lights (IR maybe?) next to it, but then I get an error saying, "Couldn't turn on the camera. Make sure it is working properly." I have verified that the camera does actually work using the Windows Camera application.
I found a related post that said that driver is installed as part of the Realtek Audio driver installation. I tried downloading the latest directly from the HP driver download site, but that didn't work either.
Any information that could help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time!

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also ensure Windows is up to date.
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Hi KrazyToad,
Thank you for your response.
I've verified that there are no updates available through HP support assistant, as well as no updates available for Windows.
The issue still persists. Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks!

Yes it the Realtek Audio driver which causes the Dectection Verification to appear in Other Devices.
Had the same issue on spectre x360 15-ch055na, installing the most recent audio driver directly from the hp website solved it also.
