I recently purchased an HP Envy x360 2-in-1 laptop (model 14-fc0000) and noticed the HP 700 Rechargeable Multi Pen listed as a 'recommended accessory.' However, I'm unable to connect the stylus to the laptop. Could you guide me on how to pair the pen, or let me know if I need a different stylus that’s compatible with this model?

Hi @Star_krya,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the HP Envy x360 14-fc0000 is designed to support styluses that utilize the Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP). The HP 700 Rechargeable Multi Pen is compatible with devices that support MPP, so it should work with your laptop.

To pair the HP 700 Rechargeable Multi Pen with your laptop, follow these steps:

Charge the Pen: Ensure the pen is fully charged using the provided USB-C cable.

Activate Pairing Mode: Press and hold both buttons on the pen simultaneously for about 5 seconds. The LED indicator should start flashing, indicating that the pen is in pairing mode.

Enable Bluetooth on Your Laptop:

  • Click on the Start menu and select Settings.
  • Navigate to Devices and then Bluetooth & other devices.
  • Ensure that Bluetooth is turned on.

Pair the Pen:

  • Click on Add Bluetooth or other device.
  • Select Bluetooth from the list of options.
  • From the list of available devices, choose HP 700 Rechargeable Multi Pen.
  • Follow any on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process.

If the pen does not appear in the list of available devices or fails to connect:

Check Compatibility: While the HP Envy x360 14-fc0000 is generally compatible with MPP pens, there can be variations based on specific hardware configurations. It's advisable to verify that your laptop model specifically supports pen input. You can usually find this information on HP’s website or in the user manual.

Update Drivers: Ensure that all drivers, especially for the touchscreen and pen input, are up to date. Check the HP Support site for any available updates.

Try Another MPP Pen: If possible, test a different MPP-compatible pen to determine if the issue lies with the pen or the laptop.

Check Windows Settings: Go to Windows settings to ensure that pen input is enabled. You can check under Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
