I recently installed win7 64 bit on my Envy 15-ah150sa, had win10 pre-installed. BIOS doesn't really support win7 since there are only drivers for win10 for this laptop. But I got it running with issues that i managed to solve, but now touchpade is getting in my way, it's in quite awkward position and I keep hitting it and TOUCHFREEZE DOES'NT DO IT FOR ME! So I want to disable it completely. In Mouse settings I dont have to tab for touchpad, in device manager i can't disable it, I tried installing synaptics nothing shows up. are there any other way? like trough BIOS?

Found a fix in a different post
If the Synaptics settings does not appear under Mouse properties after completing the preceding steps, try the following:
- Open device manager
- Find the touchpad device (“PS/2 Compatible Mouse”)
- Right click on the device and click “Update Driver Software”
- Select “Browse my computer for driver software”
- Select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”
- Uncheck the option “Show compatible hardware”
- Under “Manufacturer”, scroll down to “Synaptics”
- Under “Model”, the 17.0.19 driver should appear.
- Select the driver and click next.
- Click “Yes” to the “Update Driver Warning” pop-up.
- Restart

Hey@alkanens,
Thanks for the response.
Please check if you can find any entry called “HP Imagepad”? If yes, then right-click on it and select disable.
After which you will have to restart the PC in order to check if the solution worked.
Hope this helps. Feel free to reply for more.

Hello@alkanens,
Thanks for the response.
Please use the link below and follow the suggested step and check if that solves the issue.
http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04648748
Please look for the section called Common Touchpad Gestures in which on the touchpad diagram, there is a black dot on the left-hand top corner, which is actually the on/off button.
Double tap the dot which will disable the touchpad.
Hope this helps. Feel free to reply for more.
