HP ENVY X360 - 13-ar0501sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've had the HP ENVY X360 - 13-ar0501sa for around 3 months now. In that time I have constantly been battling the display...I seem to experience chronic ghosting while using it. Whether I am scrolling up/downwards on a webpage or watching videos (I particularly like watching sports such as football/soccer) I constantly see a lag behind the screen updating.

For example: When watching football (soccer) I can see the line markings on the pitch lagging behind when the camera pans from one end of the pitch to the other. When scrolling past blocks of colour or text on a website I get the same problem with it ghosting behind.

Its like the refresh rate of the screen is really low. I have checked Windows Display Settings, the screen shows as a 60Hz monitor. I have tried updating the drivers. I have tried turning everything on/off in the Radeon Settings. Nothing I try seems to be making any difference.

I find it really hard to use at the moment, it genuinely hurts my eyes. It makes it hard to focus. I would love to get some help with this and try to get it working.

Hi @Dannyhimself

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

Have you connected an external monitor and check if the issue persists?

Since you have already updated the drivers, let us try updating the BIOS

Click here to update the BIOS on the PC

You may also access the BIOS screen and check if the issue persists on the BIOS screen

  1. Turn on or restart the computer.
  2. While the display is blank, press the f10 key to enter the BIOS settings menu.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
