Hi, I just got my laptop yesterday, pretty good device overall; very satisfied. But the issue is in display. The display is extremely pathetic. I got my laptop yesterday and its a brand-new device. My display is showing colors very bad. Every thing seems to be very unappealing, faded and the biggest issue is in black color and vertical viewing angle. It is unable to show black color completely dark, (nor any-other color to its maximum potential). in black color things gets worst, you cant even see a picture perfectly if there is black in it or photos app theme is set to dark. Secondly its horizontal viewing angles are good. Not issueing but the vertical viewing angles are pathetic. You can't see anything properly. Things are very less sharp and not good if not set exactly to your sight (very particular and difficult). It is really difficult to use this laptop with all this display. Watching photos or vidoes is literally a challenge. Kindly help. Model HP 14s-dq, Serial Numeber: [Personal Information Removed]

Hi @Shayan-Irshad,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your new HP Laptop PC 14's display. Display problems can be frustrating, but there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot and potentially improve the situation. Here are some steps you can take.
Check Display Settings:
- Make sure that the display settings are configured correctly. Go to the display settings on your laptop and check the brightness, contrast, and color settings. Adjust them to see if there's any improvement.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. You can do this by visiting the HP website or using the device manager on your laptop to check for updates.
Calibrate the Display:
- Use the built-in display calibration tool in Windows to adjust the color settings. Search for "Calibrate display color" in the Start menu and follow the on-screen instructions.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Make sure your operating system is up to date. Windows updates may include fixes or improvements for display-related issues.
Factory Reset:
- If the problem persists, you might consider performing a factory reset on your laptop. This will revert the system to its default settings. Ensure you back up important data before doing this.
Monitor External Display:
- If possible, connect your laptop to an external display to see if the issue persists. This can help determine whether the problem is with the laptop's display or the graphics hardware.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
