HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cc5xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I start my laptop, the screen is distorted. To get my computer to turn on, I have to move the screen back and forth until it is visible enough to log in. However, once the computer is on and warmed up, the screen issues go away and I can move the screen without the screen distortion.

@Mhill1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues with the display on your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you connect an external monitor or a TV to the computer and check whether the display is working fine.

Also, update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check if it helps.

The display on an external monitor works fine, and I did the following steps to no luck. I recognize that it would most likely be a hardware problem, but I don't understand why it works fine after my computer has been on for a few minutes. The problem only persists upon startup, which can sometimes take a long time. Thank you.
