@Massimo83, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it must be to deal with a recurring pink tint issue on your HP ENVY 16" Laptop (16-h0000), especially after both the display panel and motherboard have already been replaced.
Since the issue only affects the internal touch display and not external monitors (via DisplayPort or wireless), and all software and BIOS updates are current, this points to a hardware-level issue isolated to the internal display system.
Here's a step-by-step guide to further isolate and potentially resolve the issue:
Perform LCD Built-in Self-Test (BIST)
This test helps determine if the issue is with the LCD hardware itself.
- Shut down the laptop.
- Press and hold the D key, then press the Power button.
- The screen should cycle through solid colors (white, red, green, blue, black).
- Check if the pink tint appears during this test.
If the pink tint is visible during the test, it confirms a hardware issue with the LCD panel or its connection.
Check Display Cable and Connector
Even after a panel replacement, a loose or damaged eDP cable (embedded DisplayPort) or connector can cause color distortions.
- Request the service center to inspect or replace the display cable and re-seat the connector on both the panel and motherboard ends.
- Ask them to check for pin damage or corrosion.
Color Calibration and ICC Profile Reset
Sometimes, incorrect color profiles can exaggerate color tints.
- Go to Settings > System > Display > Advanced Display Settings > Display Adapter Properties > Color Management.
- Under the Color Management tab, click Color Management…
- In the new window, go to the Advanced tab and click Change system defaults…
- Remove any custom ICC profiles and reset to system defaults.
Test in Safe Mode or HP Diagnostics
Boot into Safe Mode or run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI:
- Restart the PC and press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to enter diagnostics.
- Run the Display Test and Component Tests.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
