HP ENVY Laptop PC 17-cg1000 (19T01AV)

I’m looking to replace my broken display.  When using the hp support agent, I’m directed to my local Best Buy Geek Squad.  They say they are unable to help me.  I went to a local repair shop who tells me that the screen I need is not available.  I ordered a replacement screen on Amazon.  Seller insists it is compatible, however the screen sent is clearly incorrect. Can anyone recommend how I can actually speak with HP or what the correct screen replacement part number would be?  I do not want to disassemble my laptop until I have the correct replacement as it is still in “working use”. Thank you.

Hi,

Can you provide the exact model or product number for the notebook?

17-cg1000 is the na,me of the series, not the specific model you have

OK. You're welcome.

The part number for the screen is L87972-001

I see not available in the HP parts store

You can try finding online

Starting on page 51 of the service manual you can see the steps to replace the screen

Just adding

It is also possible to get just the LCD and then separate the glass part. (This might be what Amazon sent you)

Not the easiest thing to do, but possible.

It lowers the cost a lot.

Naturally, this is only possible if the actual glass part is intact.
