We have several sites where the display is falling out of the monitor frame. The monitors are no longer under warranty, but we need to provide a fault investigation report and recommend how to fix it. Is this problem known and what are the reasons and how can it be fixed?

The issue of the display falling out of the monitor frame on the HP Z24i is often related to overscan, incorrect scaling, or signal mismatch rather than a direct hardware fault. This can happen if the connected system is not outputting the monitor’s native resolution (1920x1200 @ 60Hz) or if GPU scaling settings are forcing an improper aspect ratio. Al Shamsi Travels It's also worth checking for outdated graphics drivers or settings in the Intel, AMD, or NVIDIA control panels that may be applying automatic scaling. In aging monitors, internal controller degradation can also cause alignment issues, though this is less common. For a fault investigation report, it’s recommended to document the resolution and refresh rate settings, test the monitor on multiple systems and cables, and adjust GPU scaling settings to rule out software-related causes before concluding a hardware failure.

Thank you for the prompt reply. I can check these SW aspects, but to me it is hard to imagine that it is a SW related issue. We have two monitors on each site and in all sites the same monitors, computers, cables, settings, drivers etc. and yet it happens only in some of them. If it is a SW problem I would expect it to happen in all of them. I therefore rather believe it is a HW issue, but I don't know what exactly cause it in some monitors and not in other. All monitors are mounted the same way, they are all installed in AC controlled rooms and are roughly the same age (appr 5 years). So what could be the root cause? And how can we fix it without damaging the display? Can we glue them back in place and will it hold or should we use tape or other ways to keep the displays in the monitor frame. Any hints or experience is highly appreciated.
