HP Pavilion 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-ec2000 (2P6B5AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello! I have a problem with my HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop. Every time I connect my phone (Iphone 12) to my laptop, for hotspot through cable (it's more stable that hotspot via wi-fi), my display starts flickering. I have iTunes installed on laptop. I need to say that, I have another laptop Acer for work with windows 10 installed, and when I do the same thing (connecting the phone to the laptop for hotspot, nothing wrong happens.)

Moreover, I noticed that only when I have phone connected to the HP Laptop, I receive from time to time blue screen and every time a different code:

  1. CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (the last one)
  2. SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
  3. RESOURCE_NOT_OWNED
  4. KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE

I tried a lot of things (found on internet) to stop this "flicker" and to fix the blue screen, but nothing works.

Things tried to fix the "flicker": - update the drivers;

- update the windows;

- changed device settings to not update the driver automatically, and installed the proper driver for AMD and NVIDIA;

- change the resolution;

- fix all the problems with HP Assistant;

- installed the last version of iTunes;

Things tried to fix the blue screen:

- Running System File Checker;

- Remove the battery;

- Running DISM;

- Everything related to HP software's (HP assistant; Diagnostic, etc);

- Downloaded WinDbg Previewer and try some things with the dump files;

I'd be happy to help you!

Excellent description and a great diagnosis. It is greatly appreciated.

Update the Bios- The update installs on supported computer models using a supported Microsoft Windows Operating System. Restart the system to complete the installation. Click here

Once that is done, update the graphics driver for AMD Click here

and for NVIDIA Click here

Keep me posted.
