Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The laptop screen turns off from time to time. Screen turns on just when the laptop is completely off and then on. I can’t use it for more than 30 minutes. But sometimes it is off after 2 or 5 minutes. When other will still work y(can hear it). So, I want to know: can this be fixed or should I throw it back into the tartar?

Please help

Welcome to HP support community.

Please capture the error code or message on the blue or black screen if it appeared before the computer turned off automatically, I would request you to follow the below steps to capture and reply back with the error message/code to identify the issue and find a permanent fix:

  • In Windows, search for and open View advanced system settings.

  • In the Advanced tab, under Startup and Recovery, click Settings.

  • Under System Failure, remove the check mark next to automatically restart, and then click OK.

  • Restart the computer to apply the change.

  • The computer no longer restarts automatically when a blue screen error occurs.

For more details: click here

However, if the computer shuts down and the lights on both the power button and the charger port turns off,

you may need to try with an alternate power adapter and reseat the battery before you try using it again

And if the issue persists, please Contact HP as this could be a hardware failure.

Please reply back with the error code as the issue is code specific and it would be rather easier to provide an accurate solution using the same.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.

No he don't reload. He just turn off screen laptop. All lights still working after screen of. Screen ON just after I turn of laptop by myself when I press button OF/ON. Perhaps I should buy new RAM.

This seems to be hardware issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

Cheers.
