Product: Laptop HP Pavilion 15-eg0000 (9WF73AV)

Hello, 

 

I'm not able to connect external monitor via USB-C hub. 

 

The same hub is working fine with other HP laptop (Elitebook) and Asus laptop. 

I can connect even two external screens - via HDMI and DisplayPort. 

 

In my Laptop HP Pavilion 15-eg0000 (9WF73AV) nothing is working via USB-C - neither HDMI or DisplayPort. 

HDMI port in laptop is working fine. 

 

Is this a defect and I should send it to the service requesting a fix?

What is your Laptop HP Pavilion 15-eg0000 (9WF73AV)  machine ? It cold be one of the following ones

Your machine should have 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge).

 

What is your USB-C hub ? You should be able to use HP USB-C G5 dockon yoyr machine. I tested the dock on a SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge specs including other vendor machines.

My Laptop, which I have issue with, is HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eg0061nw. 

The one with which the hub is working correctly is HP EliteBook 840 G8 (aslo working correctly with Asus ZenBook). 

My hub is Cablexpert A-CM-COMBO8-01 - https://cablexpert.com/item.aspx?id=12146&lang=en

 

I need to know if my HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eg0061nw has a defect. 

I'm not an expert, but to me it looks like a defect if same device is working on other laptops. 

 

Please advise.

Yes, it has  1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge) port.  I can't says your machine is defected all I can say the hub is NOT compatible with your machine. Have you tried HP USB-C G5 dock ?
