Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The laptop is purchased in Feb last year. A few weeks ago, just as my warranty expired, the displayport of my laptop ceased to function. Current symptoms are

1. Plugging in the USB-C port, the monitors say "display port no signal". Tried two monitors. However, the USB-C works if I plug in a flash drive or a phone, and the trasfer speed is good.

2. Pluggin in the mini display port, the monitors I tried either say "display port no signal" or stay in "energy saving mode" and strangely Windows freezes until I unplug

The HDMI does work.

I have tried all possible solutions I can find, including

1. unplug, turn off displays, and turn of the laptop, wait a few minutes, and restart and re-plug (including press the power button of the monitors to reset, etc. etc.);

2. install the video drievers provided by HP at https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/omen-by-hp-17-an000-laptop-pc/15551440/model/174037....

3. try out different cables and different monitors. all monitors and cables work with another laptop.

Really hope someone can come up with some idea. What is happening with my display port and what other possible ways I can try? Many thanks!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. If its a hardware related issue, You may need to service the computer.

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly, Let's perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant:

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

And, also run BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629

If everything fails then we can try system factory default reset which will install windows operating system. Click here to perform a system recovery.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
