Example: Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I am looking for a way to use a docking station and/or dual monitor external display device compatible with my aging hp pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx.  I can't find anything on Amazon that seems to be compatible with this particular HP laptop.  I'm looking for a reasonable price too.  Less than $100 USD.  Any ideas?  The need is to be able to hook up two external monitors (hdmi and/or dp) and also (hopefully) able to charge the laptop using the usb-c thunderbolt port.  The latter is not a requirement since I can manually use my 35mm plug in adapter directly to the laptop.  Right now I have an available hdmi display port on the laptop - that's it.  So at best, I can have only one external monitor as it is.  Thanks.

Hi@mmarkm,Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Nearly all HP Pavilion notebooks don't have a docking port therefore you can't get a docking station for your machine or for HP Pavilions. The specs of your machine are

which shows it has

  • 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate);
  • 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A (Data Transfer Only);
  • 1 AC smart pin;
  • 1 HDMI 1.4b;
  • 1 headphone/microphone combo;
  • 1 RJ-45

As you can see, its USB-C port does NOT support video out. At this stage, a docking station using USB-A ports still is a good choice. If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors, please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few options on market today including some HP products:

or try following HP docks

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
