Docking station recommendation

Please recommend docking station(s) that will work with HP Notebook Model 17-ca0009cy (17").  I want to use my prior desktop's monitor and keyboard, and not have to deal with a lot of cable movement/unplugging when I take laptop with me.  Thanks!

Unfortunately, from what I recall, only the HP Business laptops have integrated docking connectors -- and without those, you are relegated to one of the "universal" docking stations that connect through a USB port.

I had tried out several (which I got from a local computer store with a GREAT return policy) with a recent HP laptop and found them to be unreliable and unstable.  Sometimes everything (i.e., mouse, keyboard, monitor, extra USB ports) would work, but more often, one or more would not.

My own experience with laptops and docking stations is that you need a business laptop with a proprietary docking connector -- and a compatible station -- to have a reliable experience.

But ... perhaps someone else here has used a "universal" docking station recently that they can recommend.
