EliteBook 840 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is the DisplayPort on the EliteBook 840 G3 compatible with "Multi-Stream Protocol" (MST)?

From the Specs on the product, it just calls it a "DisplayPort" but doesn't give info on what version of DisplayPort it is. Version 1.2 of the DisplayPort standard added support for MST, which allows daisy-chaining DisplayPort monitors or buying a DisplayPort "Hub" to connect 2 or more monitors to a single port.

Turns out one of the two monitors I was looking to hook up had daisy-chain support with a DP output as well as a DP input (the other had 2 DP inputs, but no output). Turns out it works! I got both monitors running at the desired settings -- the Dell P2815q 28" 4K display with the feed-though at 2560x1440 @ 59 Hz (chosen as its 4K maxes out @ 29Hz, and 4K on a 28" display is a bit much for my 50-yo eyes), and the Monoprice 32" WQHD 165Hz Zero-G Gaming Monitor (pn42107) at it's max of 2560x1440 @ 165  Hz).

Whew!

HP - please update the product specs for the DisplayPort to indicate the version (it's at least 1.2)!
