HP Pavilion - 14-ce0504sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I'm tryi ng to get a USB type C display port cable (which includes a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter) to work. I don't seem to be able to get it to be detected at all. Does the HP Pavilion - 14-ce0504sa support DisplayPort alternate mode with its USB type C port? If so, how does one enable/disable it? Any tips on getting this working? I have installed the latest chipset and intel GPU drivers.

Thanks,

Nick

Hello @Sipos,

According to the specsheet and Quickspecs of this laptop, the USB-C port does not support any Alternate modes. It only supports data transfer. The web specifications for this device are incorrect.

Sorry about that.

Kind regards,

Eddy

Thanks. That is a shame, since I bought the cable for this machine, having, I thought, checked that it supported DisplayPort alternate mode. Thanks for the solution to the isue though. I'll buy a USB 3 video adapter to use instead.
