Example: Pavilion 15-cc1xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought the following new HP laptop from Amazon.com:

[edit]

This is a HP Pavilion laptop 15-cc1xx, Product Number: 2DS94UA, running Windows 10

The USB C port does not provide HDMI or VGA output signals when I connect to it a USB Type C to HDMI/VGA converter such as[edit]

The HDMI port worksproperly.

What do I need to do to get the USB C port on this laptop to provide HDMI or VGA signal?

Thanks so much for your help in advance.

@ChristopherChu

Your machine is actually an HP Pavilion - 15-cc178cl . Its specs

     https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05787840

It has

  • 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s);
  • 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Data transfer only);
  • 1 HDMI;
  • 1 RJ-45;
  • 1 headphone/microphone combo.

Are you tying to connect to a second monitor ? Have you tried USB-C to HDMI (no  converter in between).

Regards.

Dear Banhien:

Thanks for the spec on my laptop.

I am trying to have a 2nd HDMI display using the USB C port. I have not tried a USB C to HDMI cable. I thought a USB C to HDMI convertor should simply work.

Because the converter did not get HDMI output signal from the laptop USB C port, I thought I may need to configure somthing in the BIOS?

Best regards,

Chris
