It was an option.

 

You would have to enter your notebook's serial number in the search window at the link below, find the part number for the keyboard, check chapter 5, page 50 of the service manual and see if the part number is for a backlit keyboard.

Another way to tell is to look at the row of function keys and if there is a backlit keyboard, there will be a function key with a keyboard icon with 'rays' emanating from it.

Yes! I have the same exact laptop and they have backlight which is very helpful when typing in the dark.
