Hi @AbhilashYadav

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for describing that—blinking lights or flickering spots at the bottom of your HP Pavilion 14 screen can stem from a few different causes.

Let’s walk through a structured approach to diagnose and fix it:

Step 1: Check for Hardware Faults

  • Gently adjust the screen angle: If the flickering changes or worsens when you move the lid, it could be a loose display cable or failing panel.
  • Inspect for pressure points: Blinking spots near the bezel may indicate pressure damage or backlight bleeding.

Step 2: Test in BIOS

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly to enter the Startup Menu.
  • Press F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Observe the screen in BIOS. If the blinking persists here, it’s likely a hardware issue (not driver-related).

Step 3: Update Graphics Drivers

  • Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
  • Expand Display Adapters, right-click your GPU, and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

If you’re using Intel graphics, you can also try Intel’s Driver & Support Assistant for automatic updates.

Step 4: Adjust Display Settings

  • Right-click on the desktop → Display SettingsAdvanced Display Settings.
  • Set the Refresh Rate to the recommended value (usually 60Hz).
  • If available, toggle graphics switching in BIOS or OMEN Gaming Hub.

Step 5: Rule Out Software Conflicts

  • Boot into Safe Mode (Shift + Restart → Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Settings).
  • If the blinking disappears in Safe Mode, it’s likely caused by a third-party app or driver conflict.

Step 6: BIOS & Firmware Update

If the issue persists after all this, it may be a failing backlight or panel. Since you’re comfortable with hardware diagnostics, you could inspect the internal display cable or consider a panel replacement.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
