Hello. I've seen similar topics to this on the forums, but couldn't find an answer which mirrored my situation.
I recently purchased a Lenovo Thinkvision Portable Monitor with the intent to have a dual monitor system with my HP envy laptop. The monitor only comes with 2 USB-C ports. When I attempted to connect it to the USB-C port on my laptop, the monitor would power on, but my computer couldn't detect the monitor (I searched for the monitor using both the Settings page and the Graphic Control Panel Page) . After doing some research on these forums, it seems that the monitor would only be recognized if connected through the HDMI port.
Next, I purchased a USB-C to HDMI adapter, but that didn't seem to work either. I tried multiple combinations including simultaneously connecting the USB-C monitor to the USB-C laptop port and also connecting an HDMI cable from my laptop to the adapter to the USB-C port in my monitor.
It seems like I might be out of luck, but I'm hoping that there may be an answer or product that may help me here. I'm a relative novice, so any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Your machine is a CTO machine, no REAL specs available. I have to use a machine of the series because most likely it has same ports
USB-C port: as you can see, you can't connect it to a monitor using USB-C because simply its USB-C port does not support video out that way.
Looks like you need a DisplayLink Certified dock for your 2 monitors using HDMI ports and leave USB-C connections on monitors for newer machines. Please try
Regards.
