Hello,
I'm trying to connect two monitors to my HP Spectre laptop. The two monitors I am using have HDMI to USB-C cables, but the laptop only has one free USB-C port (the other is used as the laptop charger). The normal USB port is currently being used for an external mouse.
I tried to use a USB port (which had two USB & two USB-C ports) but a warning comes up about the displays not working. The product I purchased is a Belkin 4-port mini hub (F4U090)
If I plug the two HDMI cables straight into the laptop, the dual monitors work, but then I sacrifice the laptop charger and this causes issues.
Has anyone else had this issue, and how did they get around it?
Thanks,
Audrey

Hello Audrey86,
The one banhien posted is definitely a nice workaround.
Belkin has a good reputation but upon googling this hub, the reviews don't look all that great...
If you want other cheaper alternatives, post back with your product/model number and I could do some searching.

Eddy

Hello Audrey86,
So the options differ if you're okay with VGA or a different output port but I just chose 2 hubs with mixed reviews that'll solve your 2 HDMI + charging issue.
This one is from Aukey which produces really nice accessories. I personally have an Aukey USB-C hub. The only thing that I'm concerned about is that there could be slight connection issues if you try to connect the HDMI + USB-C charging + another USB device. Use this for one USB-C port that'll also allow passthrough charging and the existing USB-C adapter for the other HDMI display.
This one will allow you to project 2 HDMI displays from a single USB-C port. There's a chance of issues from reading the reviews but apparently, you get the nifty feature of MST or the ability to extend the 2 displays. You would normally need DisplayPort to do this.
I don't like HP's accessory prices so I would choose these any day over HP's $300 hubs.
Hope this helps,
Eddy

I have the same issue, but when I use one of these adaptors (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DW3QYM5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#custom...) to connect the two external monitors (https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LC27F591FDNXZA-C27F591-27-Inch-Included/dp/B01CX26VNC/ref=sr_1_15?cri...), to my Spectre13 ac000-x360, only one of the monitors works at a time. I've tried updating drivers, and it looks like it meets all the specs. I can't figure out why it's not working. Any ideas?
