HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec1073dx

Hello,

I have issues with attempting to connect and extend 2 monitors to my laptop. I bought some HDMI splitter with HDMI port which can take image but its only duplicated and I don't want that. USB-C port as I can see cannot transfer image to monitor at all and HDMI port works fine.

Example of HDMI Splitter , USB hub and USB-C Female to USB-A Male  that I already own.

My question is:
- Is HDMI port reserved for just one output and if not is there any adapter I can use that goes from HDMI port into 2 monitors?

- Can I even see image from my USB-A ports since version aren't 3.0 (correct me if I'm wrong) so confirm if I can even see image at first, if not can I somehow upgrade version of ports with some additional adapter. If I can, should I buy some HDMI to USB-A adapter that goes to my USB-A (SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate and 1 USB 2.0 Type-A (HP Sleep and Charge)) port and display second image with first connected to HDMI or just to buy dual HDMI to USB-A adapter and connect both HDMI to that adapter. Will that work as splitter that I already have or will display 3 different images (1 laptop and 2 extern monitors).

examples:
USB-A to HDMI Adapter
USB-A to Dual HDMI Adapter

- Confirm me that my USB-C (SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate) cannot transfer image with adapter at all, if can with adapter, which one should I buy? Can I also buy some USB-C to dual HDMI adapter and then with additional adapter for USB-A from USB-C, which I already have, will work also with the previous question.

USB-C to HDMI adapter

For a reminder, I gave u examples of adapter, but please don't recommend me some docking station that cost as much as my rent and occupy half of my desk. Just small and simple USB and HDMI/DisplayPort adapters only.

Thank you in advance:)
Nikola

HDMI splitter is a joke. The specs of your machine is

          https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06955344

It ONLY has 1 hopeless SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 5Gbps signaling rate port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine,
  • Connect to an external monitor with/without hub/dock/adapter (some hubs may have builtin chip to support this)

If you wish to connect 2 external monitors (only-total 3), you can use

  • Monitor 1: HDMI direct cable,
  • Monitor 2: Using a Displaylink Certified USB-A to HDMI adapter such as

                                     USB to HDMI Adapter

Hi @Banhien ,

Are u sure this this will work since my USB port aren't 3.1 version (minimum to transfer image) or is it good version?

Nikola

Sure, fully tested on few different notebooks fro HP, Dell and Lenovo as long as it is DisplayLink Certified.
