Elitebook 840 G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I got a HP Elitebook 840G5 that im trying to connect to my Dell U3419w display over USB-c but it wont work.

Other computers (Lenovo) works without a hitch. Tried different cables (USB-C, TB3) but it still wont connect.

The monitor works with other computers (lenovo) and the computer works with other displays (Samsung) over USB-C.

Connecting the display over HDMI works.  I've updated the computers Bios ang Thunderbolt firmware but it wont resolve my issue.

Can anybody help me?

Update: If i do a reset (PWB >15 sec) on the computer while having the monitor attached it works. Its a solution but it doesnt feel sustainable in the long run.

The same issue here.

Monitor connected by HDMI-USB-C cable to XPS 9360 is working flawlessly, but connected to HP is not recognised.

Windows shows that some device has been connected but signal is not sent to the monitor.

After setting Project option to Duplicate and then restarting HP computer by holding power button (software restart doens't help) makes that monitor is detected.

Everytime I disconnect cable and connect again I need to repeat whole process to force HP laptop to detect the monitor.
