Enable video card driver support

Hello I have an HP NW9440 workstation. The FX 1500M video card is not compatible for upgrading to Windows 10 Pro 64bit, anyway with the nvidia drivers version 307.68 downloaded from the microsoft site for windows 8 it works quite well. Moreover,, downloading the SP82356 containing the  graphics drivers 385.73 from the HP website the compatibility of the FX 1500M  with Windows 10 64bit is indicated. But when I launch the setup.exe it says that the graphic card is absent. What can be done to solve it? Is there any way to make the driver work by putting the probably missing values in the "nvbl.inf" file? Best regards, Marco

Here is what I would try...Manually install the Vista x64 graphics driver from your notebook's support page.

The first thing to do would be to uninstall all drivers and bring the display adapter back to the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.  Uninstall all Nvidia software from the Windows control panel>programs>uninstall a program.

Restart the PC.

Next, download and save, but do not run this graphics driver file.

This package contains the NVIDIA Graphics driver for the listed notebook models and operating systems.

Then download and install this free file utility.  The 2nd one at the top of the page is for 64 bit.

After you install 7-zip, right click on the graphics driver file you saved.

Select 7-zip from the list of items on the menu.

Have 7-Zip, Extract to:  and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp34799).

Once that is done, go to the device manager, click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.

Click on the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter listed there.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

Click on Have Disk, and browse to the driver folder 7-Zip created>WinVista64>nvbl (setup information file), click Next and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC, and hopefully the graphics should be working fine, because that driver was designed for your notebook's GPU.

Although it's desirable to have primarily a stable driver, I would like to upgrade from the driver version I have now and I accidentally identified the 385.73 driver contained in the following softpaq

which seems to be the latest available that natively supports both Windows 10 64bit (all versions) and HP driver card FX 1500M. Unfortunately, the installation information for FX 1500M inside the nvbl.inf  is completely missing.

Therefore, I would like to adapt it to what it promises to do.

To better clarify, I post for example a sketch of the content of the 385.73 modded to add th FX 1500M. I've left XXX and XXY for the section because I don't know wich is the correct one, please can you help me?

I wouldn't be able to help you modify the driver to work.

sp82356 does not have driver support for the graphics adapter your notebook comes with.

It will only work on the following adapters:
