HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop PC 15-ed1000 (169X0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Out of the sudden, today, I went to close the laptop on my desk and it would not. When trying to close the top screen, the left bottom side of the screen would come apart and open and the hinge separate from the laptop.

I immediately called HP support and after 30 minutes on the phone, I was informed that it is not covered under the warranty as I have caused the damage and they offered me to have the laptop repaired for a cost of $400.

Unsatisfied from the option offered, I immediately started to research the problem my laptop has to find out that it is far too common.

I refuse to pay a third of what I paid for the laptop to simply  repair something that is defective/faulty in the hardware, and has not been not mishandled> Moreover, it is still under warranty.

I see from other postings, that HP has recognized the design flaw and is willing to replace this at no cost.

Please provide me with the contact information necessary to begin the repair process, and repair my laptop.

Best Regards!

Welcome to the HP support community.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
