My touchscreen on the HP Envy x360 2 in1 is not working. I found it in the device manager, tried to update driver and didnt work. Then I read to uninstall it, I did, restarted the computer and unable to figure out how to reinstall the touch screen driver.

Hi @AZfam
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your touchscreen isn't working and you've already uninstalled the driver, you can reinstall it by following these steps:
Automatic Driver Reinstallation:
- Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
- In Device Manager, click on the Action menu at the top and select Scan for hardware changes. This should prompt Windows to automatically reinstall the touchscreen driver.
Manually Install the Driver:
- If the above step doesn’t work, go to the HP Support website.
- Enter your laptop model (HP Envy x360) and go to the Software and Drivers section.
- Look for touchscreen drivers or the driver for your specific model.
- Download and install the driver.
Using Windows Update:
- Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.
- Go to Update & Security and select Windows Update.
- Click on Check for updates to see if there’s an available driver update for your touchscreen.
Restore Points (if applicable):
- If all else fails and you had a restore point created before the issue started, you can consider using System Restore to revert to that state.
Check BIOS Settings:
- Sometimes the touchscreen functionality can be disabled in the BIOS. Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 to enter BIOS/UEFI settings. Look for a setting related to the touchscreen and ensure it’s enabled.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
