hp envy x360 15t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have HP envy x360  product number 8DX23AV_1. When I received it I saw that the color depth is only 6 bit meaning it is not 100% sRGB. I selected the default option for display. I think it only has 45% NTSC.

My question is, if I select the second option(the one with privacy screen), will it have 8 bit color depth( meaning 100% sRGB)?

I searched in HP partsurfer website for my laptop but could not find anything that says panel with privacy screen has 100%sRGB.

Thank you,

@hummingbird12,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know if you select 8bit will you get 100% sRGB.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you refer to the below service guide for your computer (Under display panel) and it will give you all the details about the display on your computer.

Hi Fossette,

Thank you for the reply. I see that if I choose option with privacy screen I get 72% color gamut. But I also wanted to know if the display with privacy screen  has 8 bit or 6 bit + FRC. Sometime even if display is 8 bit but still the color is not accurate. Yahoo Logo is the best example. Geico.com is another.

Please see below image and see the color difference. The one on left is 6 bit and the one on right is 8 bit.
