Hi,

I also have this same Envy x360 Ryzen 5 2500U Laptop that I have bought today. No applications have been installed yet.

I see in your response that you wrote directions on how to manually rotate the screen in the settings but is there a way to automatically make the laptop screen go into portrait mode when folded as a tablet and then automatically go to landscape mode when opened with the keyboard showing?

My previous laptops from other vendors were able to do this such as the lenovo yoga 2in1,microsoft surface, etc where the laptop screen would automatically go into portrait mode and disable the keyboard when folded into a tablet mode automatically. Then when the laptop is folded back into a normal laptop mode with keyboard showing, the keyboard would then be re-enabled and the screen would go into landscape mode without needing to go into the settings.

I do not see the auto rotate button in the notification settings as windows help mentions.

if not, is there an easier shortcut I could create on the taskbar or widget that I could press to rotate?

Thanks for any help

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Have you checked the auto-rotation option is turned on?

You can try this workaround:

Go to Control Panel> Display>Change Display Settings and then make sure that the "Allow the screen to auto-rotate" is selected.

this should fix the issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi,

Thanks for replying.  I have the HP Envy x360 with Ryzen5 2500U processor

In Windows 10, there is no Display icon in control panel anymore.

When i right click on an empty spot on the desktop background there is a display settings option which will take me to the Settings Menu item for Display where it shows the resolution settings.

I do not see any option for Auto-Rotation. The closest things I see is the "Orientation" select dropdown for portrait or landscape as mentioned in the first thread before this was split off.

I have checked the charms bar and there is no rotation lock icon.

From this point should I check if there is a device driver issue?

In Device Manager, the only item i see under the sensors category is "HID Sensor Collection V2"

@huister

You can just skip the HID Sensor Collection V2 driver,

Let's perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant:

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

  1. To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.
  2. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  3. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  4. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  5. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  6. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
