HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15-ee0000na
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My webcam produces a white screen when on, was working fine and it has had no changes. If I put my finger over the camera it goes dark, so the privacy button is not activated. I have been onto the warranty team but after 2 weeks, updating drivers, taking laptop back to factory settings, they still can’t fix it. I see other people have had similar issues. Has anyone resolved this or is it a hardware problem. They keep saying they will call me back but after 2 weeks and me chasing them I am at my wits end as I need this webcam for work.

Hi@PDod,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP ENVY X360 Laptop.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.

If the issue persists then it is a hardware issue on the webcam.

As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers and should be able to sort this out.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hope you got it working. I followed the guidance of another HP Envy owner on here and pushed the camera button next to the power button on and off a couple times and it started working after doing the same thing.
