Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand there's an Error 0xc000012f...after installing the NVIDIA driver from the Nvidia website to use the Nvidia Experience,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

Did you know that the Error 0xc000012f is the code that distinguishes the error from the others and explains why it occurred?

Have you attempted to install the Video card drivers from the HP Website?

What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

(Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

While you respond to that, I recommend you try the below steps:

(Check if the issue is resolved after every step and then proceed to the next if the issue persists)

Step 1. Clean up junk files

  1. Press Win key + R simultaneously.
  2. Type cleanmgr and hit Enter.
  3. Then select OS partition and press OK.
  4. Finally, select Clean up System Files and wait for the process to finish.

Step 2. Run sfc/scannow

  1. Click Win key + S and type cmd in the search box.
  2. Right-click on the Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator.
  3. Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
  4. Let the system perform the repair automatically.
  5. After that, reboot the system.

Step 3. Uninstall Cumulative Windows 10 update

Some specialists claim that 0xc000012f error code is caused by KB2879017 update. Therefore, if you have recently installed it, you should uninstall it right away.

  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Navigate to Update & security -> Windows Update.
  3. Select Advanced options and then click View your update history.
  4. After that, select Uninstall updates.

Step 4. Use a System Restore Point

If you can’t uninstall Windows updates for some reason, then you can use a system restore point. However, this can only be done if you have created such point before. If you have, then perform the following:

  1. Click Win key and type Create a Restore point in the search bar.
  2. Select System Protection on the new window.
  3. Click on System Restore and then hit Next.
  4. Select the last Restore point that you have created and then click Next.
  5. Click Finish and wait for the system to restore. After that, restart the system.

Let me know if those steps worked for you,

If they did, that's awesome!

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,

That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck
