i met the same issue, but I am not sure it's a solid solution to hardware.

We have the same issue with Elitebook 820 G3's     AND   Desktop Elitedesk 800g2

This seems to be a problem with the Desktops that have SkyLake too, we have more Elitedesk 800g2 machines doing this than laptops

we ALSO seem to have the problem with a certain Model of HP Monitor, the e272q  EliteDisplay 27"  , which can flicker plugged into anything, even 2013 machines with no SkyLake,   Do these Monitors & PC's need the Shielding too ?

This has been very frustrating trying to sort this for the users here, its been going on for Months, its gotten so bad we may have to stop buying HP Equipment and go Dell or something.

It's definately the shielding. I'm pretty sure HP knows about it, but hasn't released a consumer advisory. Our repair place was able to order the shielding part and install it. I haven't had the customer return with the issue. It probably effects both the 820 and 840, maybe even the 430s, but we only have 840s docked. I haven't seen any of the new zbooks do it yet though. Not sure on the desktops. We only have the 800 g2 AiOs so far and I haven't had any complaints.

but it doesnt mention fixing the shielding as a fix lol

...the funny part is:

HP has applyed the shielding in notebooks produced after july 2016... so they must know about the issue.

...no futher comments...

We have had the sheild placed on several laptops and it seemed to fix the issue for several weeks but the blinking came back.  Very frustrating!  This is only happening on 840 and 850 G3's.  We have a mix of 840 and 850 G1's, G2's and G3's but anain only happening on G3's.  At first we though it was only happening on those that had HP E232 EliteDisplay monitors but we have seen this on non HP's just not as frequently.  I personally have an 850 G3 with HP E232 monitors ... it has the shield and still blinks from time to time and when it does, it is really bad.  I have found that I can firmly hold the slimdock and make sure my laptop is firmly seated and the blinking stops.  I would appreciate it if someone can try this as well and provide some feedback ... sometimes you can unlatch and relatch the slimdock and that will work as well.  Let me know if this works for anyone.

I believe the "fix" from HP is move your cell phone away from the laptop to reduce the amount of screen flickering.

Has HP declaired that as official?  I would like to hear from some of the others that have had the "shield" replaced to find out if that completely corrected the flickering issue for them.  It seemed to work for us for a short time.
