Hi,
I’m experiencing a recurring issue with my HP Victus 15 (Ryzen 7 8845HS, Radeon 780M + RTX 4060, BIOS F.06, Windows 11 & Fedora 42 dual boot). My external monitor, connected through a USB-C hub with DisplayPort output, is frequently not detected at boot. The screen remains black, and nothing is shown until I restart the laptop, Sometimes I have to flash the firmware again to make it work.
Important details:
- The issue happens in both Windows and Linux, so it's not OS or driver related.
The monitor and hub work fine on other devices.
The USB-C port is functional (USB devices work), but video signal fails intermittently.
My BIOS is up to date (F.06). The problem was already there on F.05.
This appears to be a firmware/BIOS-level issue, as it occurs before the OS even loads.
HDMI on laptop works. Already tested this.
- Sometimes the screen remain black after standby or hibernate.
Has anyone encountered similar behavior? Are there specific BIOS settings or firmware fixes to ensure proper DisplayPort Alt Mode initialization on boot?
Thanks in advance!
