Hi Folks,

Just posting there as this discussion : https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/External-Monitors-do-not-wake-after-s... looks to be closed (can't reply on it) due to inactivity... (Whereas answers were brought the 2 past days...)

Anyway.

Just to let you know that actually it looks like the latest firmware update worked for me !!

My monitors are now waking up properly.

Updating the firmaware dock turned to be a nightmare as for an unknown reason it failed all the time. Had to do it almost manually (as described here : https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Thunderbolt-Dock-G2-Firmware-U...

I hope this message will reach you properly and might help you...

@Brinkgt, @Box57l, @Mighty82, @Jchajdiak, @Stevenjk, @Petr_Sybol, @Jchajdiak, @Ramis84, @Meglen, @DrorHarari, @AGFOKMAN I hope you'll be notified...

Let me know how it works for you !

Available to support / reply your questions if it can be helpful.

Take care !

Max

Thanks for the details @Maxkio but it didn't solve the issue for me. Went thru the manual update procedure you linked without any luck.

Damned... sorry to read this.

Did you update to the last BIOS firmware ?

I did (F16) and we have the same computer + Dell monitors.

All other drivers ?

I can confirm it works in my case...

I did not get any update suggestion from the HP Support Assistant but I downloaded the Dock G2 firmware update and tried to install it - at it first failed but then the the HP Support Assistant suddenly starting showing there's an update. I clicked it and it asked to restart at which point it did some updates.

I do not know if it fixed the display port issue because I'll need to see it working for a week+ to make sure it does not break again.

However, now the HP Support Assistant keeps asking me to install the update again and again. I have captured something strange that may explain this. I wonder which version others have;2020-09-26_HP-Thunderbolt-Dock-G2-Versions.jpg

For some reason, it appears that the update tries to go back on the version of the DisplayPort Hub from 5.4.0.5 (my current version) down to 5.4.0.0 and it fails at that.

HP -any hint?

I can confirm that after BIOS update to F.16 Rev.A, Dock Firmware Package 1.0.63.1 (Had to do the manual update described by MaxKio) and rolling back the Graphics Driver to 26.20.100.8141 (I was running a 27,x Intel delivered driver) that it finally works! Thanks @MaxKio for the info.

Hey together,

@MaxKio - Thanks to notifying me/us about the new discussion board!

I already update the new G2 Dockingstation with (sp106102) but still issue is present...

The issue happens sometimes and I get slowly frustrated because now valid or satisfied support by HP.

HP support tells me to update this or that... I did already as well as run the HP Image Assistant to have ALL necessary Driver/Firmware Installed - Where is currently UP TO DATE.

The result - Sh*t still exist....

Will definitely get in touch with the support and tell then to fix it or take back this equipment which still has a guarantee.

PS:

Check your system with the HP assistant whether you have necessary driver/firmware installed or in use.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/HPIA.html

HP told me to check below link to have all necessary updates installed.

Great stuff (sarcastic) - if I check the web page, I see tons of drivers where I need to know which of them I can use or not. Hughe List with different Device Drivers.

Very unsatisfied....

Hi all,

Suffering with the same problem, HP zBook G6 and HP G2 230w docks. It appears as though the firmware version 1.0.63.1 Rev.A may have been revoked. Has anyone had any updated from HP support?

I noticed on the G2 support page that the only firmware listed is 1.0.62.1 Rev.A ,20.0 MB, Jan 17, 2020

It is really a joke...

Indeed, the "new" firmware disappeared...

I'm using the late 2019 Spectre 13" for which the BIOS v F.16 also disappeared (https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-thunderbolt-dock/20075223/model/20075224)...

So basically right now, my 2 HP devices are running with "non existent" firmwares. Suffering a lot of random troubles (more or less all linked to Thunderbolt). And no way to roll back.

All this without any notification / announcement from HP.

Adding this the more than poor support, this setup was my first try with HP, and defenitively the last one personnaly or for my company.
