Hello,
I have issues connecting external monitors to my Laptop.
My laptop : HP 255 G8
I have this docking station :
And I want to connect two monitors (one with hdmi and the other with the vga).
I have not the needed VGA cable yet but I tried to connect the first monitor with the hdmi but it didn't worked.
If i plug the hdmi directly on to the laptop it works, but if i connect to the docking station it doesn't work.
The monitors are : BenQ GW2480T
Is the docking station not compatible with the laptop or the monitors ? Does it requires a better docking station that this travel one ?
Thank you in advance 🙂

Its specs
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06955650#AbT8
Which clearly shows: it has 1 USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 (data transfer only) port which does NOT support Alt mode. You can NOT connect it to an external monitor with/without s dock.
If you wish to use 2 external monitors, you can use
- M1: using HDMI port,
- M2: Using a DisplayLink Certified USB-A adapter from USB-A to HDMI (or DVI ...).
You can also use other options
True Universal Docking Stations
Regards.

Hello @Banhien
thank you very much for the quick answer!
I can use a usb-a from the laptop to connect a compatible docking station ?
I found this one, seems to be what I need, is it true ?
