I have a 6 year old HP ENVY Notebook - 13-d004na (ENERGY STAR) which has the following ports
1 HDMI; 1 headphone/microphone combo; 3 USB 3.0 (1 HP USB Boost).
Up till now I have simply connected my notebook to a single external monitor using the HDMI to HDMI cable. If I want to connect a second HDMI monitor can I use one of my three usb ports to connect to the second monitor. If I can, what adaptor / docking station do I need. If this is possible will I see 2 displays plus my laptop when viewing displays under settings.
Thank you

You can use a DisplayLink Certified USB to HDMI adapter to connect to the second monitor. One example
