Hi, just the other day I bought this Elitebook 840 G6. Love it, but...
The display is weird.
The viewing angle is extremely narrow. If I'm not exactly in front of it, part of it gets darker, but still readable.
Also, it has HP Sure View, which I beleive has to do with the problem. Because if I turn the Sure View on, the whole display gets darker, but I still can see it clearly from the sides.
Any ideas?
Regards
Zebastian

@zebvid
Several people on this forum (including me) have encoutered the same problem. It seems that all G6 elitebook models (735, 745, 840) have this issue where the viewing angle does not change when turned off- it remains narrow at all times. So you basically pay extra to get an ancient screen. Unbelievable how HP even dares to sell this as a premium feature on a laptop in this price range. In fact it did work well on the G5 models, so there is definitely a hardware/software failure, introduced with the newer generation of the sure view screen.
The problem has been posted here as well, but HP has not reponded in any helpful way yet.
Please let us know if you get an answer or fix from HP.
