Good nights.
I am installing an additional AOD monitor I1601FWUX with USB-C connector; but unfortunately the laptop does not recognize me as such. Once it is connected, I get a message "Display connection might be limited", the monitor turns on and provides a "No signal" message and then turns off. In the "Control Panel", it is recognized as "Bilboard Device". I alredy updated the drivers directly from the AOC website (more current than the CD provided with the box) with same results.
I would like to know, please, if someone could help me with this issue?
Thank you.

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I checked the specifications of your computer and see that the USB type C port on your computer doesn’t support the display.
Please refer to the below link for the product specifications of your computer.
Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your note, I appreciate it.
It is very frustrating, considering that AOC only indicates that it needs a USB-C port without further explanations and that my notebook is not that old either, so I made the purchase of the monitor under this simple premise that was not true.
Thanks for your support.

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
I see that your computer has an HDMI port and you can purchase an HDMI to USB Type C converter and use the monitor.
Hop that helps.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Unfortunately, that option was already tried without success. As I understand, the idea of the USB-C cable is to provide the device with both power and video; apparently connecting only HDMI to USB-C does not achieve both. I was, also, using one cable connecting USB "normal" to USB-C, with no sucess (in this last option, I used a cable for cell-phone connection, I don't know if I need another cable with same terminals but with different specification).

It looks like you were interacting with @The_Fossette, but he is out for the day. I'm KrazyToad & I'm at your service.
As informed by @The_Fossette your Notebook only has the regular USB Type -C for fast data transfer but it does not support Thunderbolt. Only if a USB Type C port supports Thunderbolt, you can use the USB Type C port for display purpose
Thank you
