I bought a new HP Spectre x360 Convertible 14-ea1023dx from Best Buy and it runs great on battery power. However, when I connect a docking station to connect two monitors to my laptop, the fans spin continuously. I noticed that problem is persistent when the charger is plugged into the laptop also but not to the same extent.
I downloaded the latest Windows 11 updates and installed the newest graphics cards drivers. I tried to change the battery settings and the thermal settings in the HP Command Center, but that did not help. I spent hours on the phone with HP support and I have the latest version of BIOS.
The docking stations I used to connect the two monitors is a j5create - USB Type-C Mini Docking Station Model # JCD381 which is what Best Buy recommended. My monitors are HDMI so I need 2 HDMI ports and I have come to find out the HP does not have a branded dock that would work.
Any recommendation on how to solve the problem? Is anyone successfully running 2 HDMI external monitors with this laptop? Any other docks that might work? Prior to this I had a Surface Pro that had no issues running 2 external monitors with a dock. Any help is appreciated!
